REGGAE ICON ZIGGY MARLEY TO HEADLINE FIRST ANNUAL

WELLNESS & WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL IN DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA

Five-time Grammy Award-winning musician, humanitarian and  environmentalist Ziggy Marley will headline the first night of the First Annual "Wellness & World Music Festival" on Saturday, October 9 in Desert Hot Springs, California, just outside of Palm Springs.

The "Wellness & World Music Festival" will be held on October 9 and 10, 2010. For two days and nights, the Festival will meld all aspects of Wellness, healthy living and sustainability with World Music. At the "Wellness & World Music Festival", world-renowned musical artists will entertain while inspirational speakers, treatment specialists and noted leaders from the international wellness community share their knowledge and experience on living a healthy, positive and energized lifestyle.

Featured in this year's Festival is five-time Grammy winner and reggae Icon David Nesta "Ziggy" Marley. Ziggy's most recent album, "Family Time," won him a Grammy in the category "Best Musical Album for Children." In addition to his musical achievements, Ziggy Marley founded and heads U.R.G.E. (Unlimited Resources Giving Enlightenment), a non-profit organization which benefits children's causes in Jamaica and other developing nations. Ziggy is also an active supporter of other children's charity organizations worldwide including; Little Kids Rock, which brings musical instruments and lessons to children in public schools and the Room to Read Organization, which provides books to schools in developing countries throughout Asia and Africa.

Wellness and sustainability are issues Ziggy Marley cares deeply about for this and future generations. Ziggy himself is a practicing vegetarian and organic farmer.  He recently licensed a song for a "Yoga Revolution" CD, which along with promoting the benefits of yoga, music and a healthy lifestyle, also donates its proceeds to provide fitness and health education for underserved youth.

Ziggy Marley is a great symbol for the Wellness & World Music concept. In this Festival, he will join nationally and internationally known health lifestyle personalities, yoga trainers and best-selling authors such as:  Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman Yee, famed cardiac surgeon, medical inventor and author of "Diet Evolution," Dr. Steven Gundry, as well as other major wellness leaders.

"Wellness and World Music are a natural combination and the public's appetite for both is huge and rapidly growing," noted Tony Clarke, one of the Festival's Executive Producers and President/CEO of Tresed Ventures, LLC.  "More and more people, from all walks of life, are beckoning to nourish their minds, bodies and spirits. With this Festival, we will create a synergy of the senses."  Wayne Baruch and Charles Gayton, Baruch/Gayton Entertainment, co-creators of the Wellness/World Music concept are also Executive Producers with Clarke.

Nestled in the foothills between the San Gorgonio and San Jacinto Mountains, the City of Desert Hot Springs was chosen as the site for this world-class signature event because of the uniqueness of its environment. It is conveniently located and surrounded by the beauties of nature. It is home to internationally award-winning drinking water, rejuvenating natural hot mineral springs, numerous award-winning spas and an 'Earth Energy Vortex' - one of the few in the world.

The Wellness & World Music Festival will be held at Mission Springs Park, an excellent venue for this groundbreaking international event. The festival is expecting over 10,000 people to attend each day.

A portion of the Festival's proceeds will go to the Desert Hot Springs' Boys & Girls Club of Coachella Valley, whose mission is to save and enhance the lives of the young people of the community, especially those with economic and/or social needs by offering a safe haven and meaningful youth development programs provided by a caring and qualified staff.
